Fajardo snorkeling toursIf you want to go snorkeling but don't want to mess with finding your own gear or spots, this is the best option. Fajardo snorkeling has many options within a short distance from it's coasts.
Fajardo Snorkeling Tour - This tour offers an opportunity to ride on a catamaran and see some of the islands that surround Fajardo's coasts. Icacos, Palomino, and Palominito island are all viewable on the boat ride to the first snorkeling spot. Take a dip and snorkel around, or stay on the boat and enjoy the food and drinks in the midst of paradise. Puerto Rico Water Taxi - If you know which island you want to visit around Fajardo, you can take a water taxi and enjoy the beaches and the snorkeling spots. This option allows you a little more flexibility on times and a smaller boat. Fajardo beach snorkelingIf you don't want to take a tour and you'd rather explore a little on your own, check out these spots for Fajardo Snorkeling:
Seven Seas Beach - This beach has a TON of sand with many different entry points. In my opinion, the best spots are to the far ride side of the beach. There is a rocky point. That's where you're going. From there, swim directly north and you'll hit the reef. The water will get shallow and then you'll find the reef. This reef structure actually spans from one point to the far side of the bay. Playa Colora - This beach takes a bit of a walk but it is beautiful and there is some great snorkeling to be found. The current here usually runs east to west, but the best snorkeling here is on the right side of the beach. Snapper, blue tang, zerba fish and more. Look in the rocks for lobsters. |
Playa Escondita - A little further down the path from Playa Colora you find Playa Escondita. Also, very secluded, this beach is great for relaxing and snorkeling. Pretty much anywhere you swim you'll find coral. The best stuff is about 100 yards out. There are usually some waves breaking which can show you where the reef can be found.
