There are 11 species of snakes in Puerto Rico and the only one thought to be venomous is the Puerto Rican racer and this snake is not thought to have strong venom. There has been research done on actual bite victims and all of them were released from the hospital within 24hrs. This snake can grow as large as 3 feet long and is pictured below. Here are some of the other snakes in Puerto Rico: Flat-headed Blindsnake, Richard's Blind Snake, Puerto Rican Wetland, Blind Snake, Grant's Blind Snake, Mona Blind Snake, Coastal Blindsnake, Puerto Rican Boa, Mona Boa, Puerto Rican Racer, Puerto Rican Garter Snake. There are no poisonous snakes or spiders on Icacos Island.
